Ronda is a municipality in the autonomous region of Andalusia. It is located about 100 kilometres from the city of Málaga and is the capital of the region of the Serranía de Ronda.

The city sits on a plateau cut by a deep gorge carved by the river Guadalevín, of which there is a panoramic and very picturesque view. Together with its variety of monuments, its natural surroundings and its proximity to the Costa del Sol, Ronda has become a notable tourist centre. The cornice of the gorge and the bridge that spans it are the image of the city.
